Keeping Families in Homes

While it’s the duty of NREV to generate returns for investors, it is essential to consider the public good in so doing. The housing market is founded on communities and families; for them, houses are not just buildings, they are homes. Therefore, NREV is working with non-profits to keep families in their homes helping to stabilize neighborhoods and keep urban areas from deterioration due to vacancies.

NREV has firsthand experience in the city of Detroit in assisting home owners to acquire affordable housing and then refinance such housing through the use of the FHA’s 203(k) program. By not allowing large parts of the city to become uninhabited, the value of the real estate assets is maintained, which benefits both home owners and the city as a whole.

NREV believes that the interests of its investors and homeowners are not mutually exclusive; both benefit from the continuous occupancy of properties in stable neighborhoods.
